WAR MEMORIALS OF MAITLAND DISTRICT

 

WW1 Cenotaph 

  Dedicated            25th April 1923 

Located in Maitland Park

Transvaal Fountain

Re-Dedicated                  2004

Located in Maitland Park between the bowling club and the swimming pool.   

The Transvaal Memorial prior to  undergoing restoration in conjunction with the new Anglo-Boer War  Memorial Wall, between January 2002 and 30th May 2004   The laundry type tiles on the base and the concrete block which were installed in 1987 were removed during the restoration.
Anglo-Boer War Memorial Wall was completed in May 2004 and opened by Major General Warren Glenny AO RFD ED Retd and dedicated on the 30th May 2004 it records the names of 275 volunteers from Maitland and 44 nearby towns

Located in Caroline Park, Church Street, Maitland opposite the Fire Station

Sandakan Memorial

Dedicated   11th December  1994

  Located in Maitland Park between the Cenotaph and the bowling club

 Located in Maitland Park at the cenotaph
